Nesta was born in Morar Gwalior in Bengal. She married Valentine Arthur Baxter in Saharanpur, Bengal on 21 Jul 1904. Together they had 3 daughters (Lily Agnes Mary Ann, Alice Catherine Althea and Nesta Esme Doris) and 2 sons (William Freeland and Valentine Oscar). Valentine, her husband, died in 1943 in Lahore. Her son died on 20 Nov 1947 in India. Nesta left India for the UK and died in Edmonton in 1954
